Applicants will have completed off the job training during which the following key theoretical competencies were taught in relation to the Safe Entry and working in Confined Space:

The aim of this training is to assist in providing a safe system of work where there is the risk of entering Confined Space.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

  • The requirements of AS 2865
  • Definitions of a confined space
  • Roles of personnel involved in working in a confined space
  • What defines a person as having entered a confined space
  • Duties of a Stand-by person
  • Duties of a confined space Permit Issuer
  • Duties of a Permit Holder
  • Gas testing requirements, when and by whom.
  • Common gases found in confined space and the physical properties of these gases
  • Effects of these gasses on the body and treatment of persons that have been exposed to them
  • Types of asphyxiants effects of oxygen depletion
  • NOSHC Exposure limits, STEL, PPM and TWA
  • Pre entry requirements, Isolations, Emergency Plans, Ventilation, Communication
  • Understand Job Safety Analysis (JSA) or/and Risk Assessment (RA)
  • Mines Safety and Inspection ACT 1994
  • Mines Safety and Inspection Regulations 1995
  • Using the Hierarchy of control to identify hazards in confined space
  • Emergency rescue procedure

Upon successful completion of this course, student will be awarded a wallet-size card* inclusive of the Nationally Accredited course information, student name and course attended date.

TRAINING DETAILS:

Start Time: 8:00 am (Please arrive 15 minutes earlier for registration and ID checked)
Finish Time: 4:00 pm
Entry Requirement: Basic level of English proficiency (written and communication)
Delivery: Face to Face training and assessment in a simulated workplace environment
Payment Mode: Cash, credit card, purchase order, EFTPOS or cheque
What to bring: 1 Photo ID (e.g. Driver’s Licence, Passport (current or expired no more than 2 years), WA proof of age card or other Australian Government issued ID card with photo);
Clothing: Long sleeve shirt, long pants, safety boots
